this was taken a week ago. opening day.

the moment the official local release date was announced, i filed for a vacation leave.

with ate arlene (as seen below) and her best bud rose, we hit a movie house in Ortigas.



i really looked forward for this day... since i waited for it for the longest time.... from the moment i heard that there will be a film adaptation...

the moment of truth came.

120 minutes. the theater is packed with members of the female species (no surprise), some with their beaus, majority with female friends...

verdict: i won't say i super love the adaptation. yes, those vampires were definitely hot. no question about that. it just became cliche. yes, there's cliche-ness in the story itself, but i was expecting something different... or more.

few points:
Stewart proved her detractors wrong, she's perfect for the character. i think she's believable as bella.
Patinson is gorgeous, perfect edward. but he needs to improve on his acting
Why is Rathbone's character (Jasper) looks constipated all throughout the film? seemingly.
the soundtrack is lovely
I am not a big fan of the changes they made (why is the pepper-mint spray taking center stage... it was supposed to be in bella's bag under the bed (during the encounter in Ballet Studio)...)


the adaptation has a certain appeal which i cannot resist. a classic romantic touch to each and every kilig scene. a true blue chick flick.

i am excited to see the second installment, for the same reason as my excitement for the first... i am a fan of the book (saga)... and it is now jacob's turn to shine.
